Mica gaskets sheets are especially suited for high temperature applications and mainly used in exhaust systems, gas turbines, heat exchangers, industrial burners and the automotive industry.
Gaskets sheets made from Mica can be supplied without or with heat resistant metal reinforcement for greater stability and strength as well as to increase blow-out resistance.
Mica material is often supplied as cut gasket with inner and/or outer eyelet to increase the stability and improve the sealability as well as handling of the gasket. Mica is also used as sealing layer for Kammprofile and corrugated metal gaskets and as filler for spiral wound gaskets.
The Mica material can be used for a permanent temperature of up to 800°C, short term up to 900°C. Good media resistance, gas tightness and low minimum surface compression are the main features of this material.
